Top Events in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye

San Pedro, Ambergris Caye hosts some of Belize’s most exciting annual events, each showcasing the island’s culture, music, and community spirit. El Gran Carnaval de San Pedro, held in the days before Ash Wednesday, features traditional street painting, lively comparsas, and the symbolic burning of Juan Carnaval. On June 29th, the town celebrates Día de San Pedro, honoring its patron saint with a Catholic mass, fishing-heritage activities, and community festivities. Mid-June brings San Pedro Lobsterfest, marking the start of lobster season with food booths, culinary competitions, and island-wide celebrations. In July, the Belize International Music and Food Festival, a major culinary and entertainment event that highlights top restaurants, chefs, and live performers.Every August, the island welcomes the International Costa Maya Festival and the Grand Caribe Fishing Tournament.  In December, the Holiday Lighted Boat Parade lights up the coast with beautifully decorated vessels. Together, these events make San Pedro one of Belize’s most vibrant and festive destinations year-round.
